In order to address the issues of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and chemical
fumes that may be lurking in a home's indoor air, IQAir has developed a line of
air purifiers that are dedicated to removing these harmful toxins from the air. By
using a complex filtering system and effective types of media inside their air
purifiers, the company can achieve quality indoor air. The Michaels family from
Rocky River, Ohio was in desperate need of a solution for the chemical fumes
that were entering their home. The family loves their beautiful home, which
consists of a hot tub on a porch that is connected to the bedroom. Although this
may be a convenient place for the hot tub when it comes time to take a dip, this
location has proven to not be so great for Mr. and Mrs. Michaels when they are
in their bedroom. The smell of chlorine from the hot tub was present in
the Michaels' bedroom at all hours of the day.

The smell caused irritation of the lungs and throat for Mr. Michaels and Mrs.
Michaels often had trouble sleeping due to the strong odor that constantly
seeped through the room. The Michaels knew that moving the location of the hot
tub wasn't an option so their next best bet was to search through the many
brands of air purifiers for one that could relieve their bedroom air of the
chlorine smell. After researching a few air purifiers on the market, The
Michaels came across the IQAir air purifiers. They knew this unit was perfect for their
situation due to the filtering system and efficiency that it had. The VOC has
a regular pre filter to remove any particles in the air and the unit also
contains four filter cartridges. These cartridges house 12 pounds of gas phase
media which is able to remove many chemical fumes and odors from the air. Many
chemicals such as butane, chloroform and chlorine are easily removed from the
air by the GC VOC. After the air has passed through the pre filter and the four
cartridges of gas phase media, it is pushed through the post filter. The post
filter makes sure that all toxins and chemicals are removed from the air before
it is released from the unit.
The Michaels found that not only did their air smell fresh, clean and free of
chlorine but the unit also proved to be a great addition to the home. The unit
was quiet, even when it was set to the highest power setting so the couple was
able to leave the unit on for the entire night without it causing a disturbance.
These air purifiers only use 215 watts of power when set on the highest fan setting, so
the couple found no huge spike in their power bill when they had the air
purifier running all night. The unit was able to clean a room that is 800 square
feet in size or smaller which was the perfect efficiency to clean the Michaels'
bedroom.
The Michaels also found the unit to be very practical and easy to use. It has a
display on the top of the unit to let the user know how long the life of the
filter will last until it needs to be replaced. Like many IQAir air purifiers,
this unit also is equipped with a remote control which the Michaels found to be
particularly convenient. The couple was able to change the setting and power on
the VOC from the comfort of their bed, so they could easily turn the unit
onto a lower setting when they were ready to go to sleep. After using the GC
VOC, the Michaels have been able to enjoy their hot tub and their fresh indoor
air. Air purifiers can really help to improve quality of life.
