Air Purifier Systems and Asthma

In this third part of our series on living with asthma and preventing asthma attacks from the standpoint of cleaning your indoor environment, ClearFlite also recognizes that people do not spend all of their time indoors. Adults and children living with asthma want to enjoy the out-of-doors, sports, and nature as much as anyone else. That is why in our previous two articles on asthma, we strongly recommend finding an asthma specialist who can help you develop an overall program which includes cleaning your indoor air, but also finding ways to experience life outdoors and still breathe. In the case of enjoying the outdoors, it becomes even more important to employ air purifier solutions indoors so that you have a haven of clean air to come back to when you need it. Many of our customers have told us that they can deal with the outdoors better because their air purifier units have kept the indoors so clean that they get immediate relief upon coming home.

The same principle applies to the workplace. Although many work environments allow an air purifier in a worker’s personal space, or the company itself will supply air purifier solutions for employees with asthma, allergies, or chemical sensitivity, this is not always the case. If you are working in an environment that you cannot make more amenable to your asthma, at least you can use air purifier technology at home to create an oasis for breathing. ClearFlite customers have told us that having a clean home, particularly a bedroom cleaned continuously by an air purifier has gone a long way toward enabling them to deal with the world outside their home better. A good night’s sleep free of asthma attacks, a family room cleared of airborne irritants, and a home office that is not loaded with dust, chemicals and other particles, will affect your life outside the home, by making it more bearable.

The key to living successfully with asthma (unfortunately, so far no cure has been discovered) is to systematically evaluate and make changes in every area of your life, employing not only indoor air purifier solutions, but your doctor’s advice on medicines, the appropriate times for you to be outdoors, and participation in sports. That is because you’ll need to breathe in every area of your life. You can greatly diminish your attacks through knowledge and awareness, and by knowing your particular triggers, take steps to reduce them. That may mean taking a small air purifier with you when vacationing if the chemicals, smoke residue, or stale air in a hotel room will bother you. It may mean phoning ahead to find out if a friend you are visiting has cats or a woodstove, or even feather mattresses or pillows that can release irritating particles.

For asthmatics - overall health, including a healthy diet (and certainly refraining from tobacco) moderate exercise recommended by your doctor, and air purifier products in the key areas of your living and working spaces, as well as awareness of the conditions outside, are critical for carefree breathing.
