Dust in a Home Office
Air Purifier Used for Dust in a Home Office
Kathy Russell has a home office that
is overflowing with paper. She prides herself on virtually having an
in-house publishing office, which includes a computer, two printers,
a copier, and a fax machine. Even though she has a professional
service clean her home twice a month which includes a dusting of her
office shelves (with the warning "don’t touch my papers!") and
mopping of the office floor, she still felt inundated by dust. Kathy
saw the air purifier ads on TV and wondered if an air purifier might
help with her dust problem.
Kathy didn’t believe that she was quite an "allergenic" and she knew
she didn’t have asthma, but she worried that all the paper dust and
the dust that seemed to magnetize to the machines in her office,
might be bad for her health. Plus, her office just didn’t feel as
clean as the rest of her home. She decided to check into finding a purifier, and like many people quickly became overwhelmed at the
variety and complexity of products she found when she typed "air
purifier" into Google and Yahoo.

After reading about what seemed to be some of the highest quality
air purifier models on the internet, and looking at the costs
associated with them, Kathy decided that what she wanted was a purifier that would simply reduce the dust in her office. She also
decided that since she worked for herself, she could find the time
to wash the filters, so she decided to buy an air purifier that had
a washable filter. She didn’t want to spend any more on the air
purifier than she had to.
Kathy told ClearFlite that she found our website easy to use and
quickly zoomed in on the air purifier line from Trion. She
considered the Trion Tabletop model, the TTE1502A which cleans 200
square feet. It is 15.5 inches wide and 11 inches deep. It’s only 5
inches high, but Kathy realized that she still couldn’t set anything
on top of the air purifier. At first Kathy thought she would put the
tabletop air purifier on her large desk, but after realizing she
already had one of the printers sitting on it, she decided it might
be better to consider a floor model.
Not sure about the size of her room, Kathy got out the measuring
tape and found that her home office was actually larger than 200
square feet. It was 15 feet by 22 feet which made it 330 square
feet. Kathy then looked at the Trion Console TCE3002A air purifiers,
which the specifications said would cover 300 square feet, very
close to her office size. Although the console air purifier was 28.5
inches tall, its footprint was only 12 inches x 12 inches which
meant the air purifier would not take up much room in her office.
Kathy ordered the
Trion Console air purifier from ClearFlite. She
reported that it was ideal for her home office needs. Within a day,
she could tell a significant difference in the air. It seemed to be
less heavy. At the end of her first week with the air purifier,
Kathy decided to wash the electronic plates. She said she was amazed
and horrified at the thick paper dust that had accumulated on them
in only a week. "Yikes! I was breathing all of that," Kathy told
ClearFlite. Kathy says she typically washes the air purifiers filter
about every 10 days now. She just puts some very hot water in the
tub and squirts in some Dawn detergent and lets the electronic
plates soak while she’s doing other things. Then she rinses, dries,
and pops it back into the air purifier cabinet. "It’s perfect for
me."
