Air Purifier use to Help Sell Your Home

People who are trying to sell their homes, typically work very hard to make the home appear as clean and attractive as possible. From the perspective of a potential buyer entering the home for the first time, it is often their sense of smell that is triggered immediately, rather than what they’re seeing. Every person’s house smells different. Clean or not, houses have odors that are particular and peculiar to its human and animal inhabitants. Often it’s just an “odd” or “different” smell that the potential buyer or visitor notices. If the visitors are non-pet people, they will usually notice any pet odor whether or not they mention them. Older homes tend to have a musty odor, while new homes may have out-gassing odors from building and furnishing materials. Many people try to mask odor or “create ambience” by burning candles during showings, but that may actually irritate people who are sensitive to fragrances or smoke. An air purifier that can absorb odors can be a very small financial investment that will pay off significantly in the presentation of a home. Air purifier makes and models vary greatly, but for this particular application, an air purifier that has a high concentration of activated carbon or other gas and odor absorbent media is the kind that makes the most sense.
The Healthmate air purifier shown in white helps to fight allergy and asthma symptoms.
A quality air purifier can improve the overall interior atmosphere of a home, reducing airborne dust or particles, and making it simply feel cleaner. This is certainly a plus. But it is in the realm of odors that an air purifier can make the biggest difference regarding the successful sale of a home. Activated carbon, and particularly special blends of carbon, can absorb the ammonia-smell from pet urine and kitty litter, as well as the smell of formaldehyde and other products used in the manufacturer of furniture, carpet, and upholstery. An air purifier with activated carbon can make the kitchen more pleasant by absorbing the lingering odors of cooking. Of course, everything still has to be cleaned. If a carpet has numerous urine stains and the urine was not properly cleaned up, even a good air purifier won’t remove what’s imbedded in the carpet. But an air purifier is ideal for general pet odors, cooking odors, odors from cleaning products, and the odors from the humans living in the home.

On our website, the air purifier models which would be most appropriate for this particular purpose include the Austin Air HealthMate Plus models. (It must be a Plus model). The Aller Air Exec air purifier models would also be ideal. Both air purifiers have large quantities of activated carbon that can absorb a tremendous amount of odor. If budget is not a strong consideration, the IQAir Plus model should also be considered. It’s quieter and more aesthetically pleasing. If you were using the air purifier to clean a home, you could move one unit from room to room prior to the showing, so that each room gets cleaned, then on the day of the open house, run the air purifier in the main living area. You would not have to have an air purifier for each individual room. Our sales representatives can talk with you about the particular problem areas in the home you wish to sell, and help outline a strategy to get the home looking and smelling as attractive as possible. Air purifiers can help you close that deal!
