WORLD NEWS UPDATE ABOUT AIR PURIFICATION
Associated Press Study - Air Purifiers
A 2005 study by the world news organization - The Associated Press - found that eight states account for almost half the total health risk nationally from "factory air" - industrial air pollution. The states are: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin and Missouri. Doctors in these states continue to see increasing numbers of patients with allergy and asthma complaints, aggravated by outdoor air pollution. The report also stated that there is growing concern that this daily dose of toxic air pollution is slowing the academic and physical development of children.
We can't solely blame Mother Nature and her pollens and
molds for our respiratory problems any more. What can you do to mitigate
the problems from factory air if you live in one of the eight states or
in an area near an industrial site spewing toxins into the air?
You can keep factory air out of your home or at least
significantly reduce it. Most importantly, you can install the appropriate
air purifier in your children's rooms so at least they can breathe clean
air when they are sleeping. This will enable them to better handle the
rest of their day when they can't get away from the factory air.
We recommend the IQAir HealthPro Plus for people living near factories emitting light to moderate VOC's (volatile organic compounds). We recommend the IQAir GC MultiGas for people living in areas with factories emitting heavy chemical pollutants It can also handle soot and car exhaust. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Ranks Asthma Triggers
As asthma, a serious lung disease, increases, and along
with it, medical costs for Americans, the insurance industry and the government,
the EPA has stepped up its warnings about allergens and irritants in the
home that trigger asthma attacks.
These are tops on the recent EPA list:
- Secondhand Smoke
- Dust Mites
- Pets (skin flakes, urine and saliva)
- Molds
- Pests (droppings of cockroaches and rodents)
- House Dust
Note re The American Lung Association
The ALA has also issued strong warnings against the above triggers. However, it has issued a particular warning about wood smoke, prevalent in many homes in the winter. Children in particular are adversely affected by wood smoke. If you regularly burn wood, please consider one of our HEPA air purifiers that also have activated carbon.
Loyalty Discount Program Update
Once you purchase an air purifier from ClearFlite, you will receive 10% off on future orders, except for prefilters. In our industry, 10% is a big discount considering the fact that we offer free shipping in the continental US and our products are typically oversized so the shipping costs are computed at the higher dimensional weight instead of poundage. In the past we gave a discount on prefilters too, but our costs for shipping them are too high to continue. All the air purifiers, HEPA filters, and other filters still qualify.
If you order online, in the Special Instructions, write "LD". If you call in your order, just let us know you've ordered before.
Thank you for your support and Good Breathing!
