The Allerair 5000 DS Exec has the industrial strength needed to clean up your home if it is located in an area that has been ravaged by fire. This model was designed for commercial use in restaurants, hotels and smoking lounges, so it is equipped with a prefilter that traps tar and large airborne particles, and with a special blend of activated carbon that can trap up to 400 toxic chemicals found in smoke. It has 22 pounds of carbon, rather than a few ounces, which the inexpensive air purifiers have. It also has a micro-HEPA particle filter that filters fine ash and is 95% efficient to .5 microns

It is this three pronged approach to cleaning air that is heavy with particulate, chemicals and gases from nearby fires that makes the Allerair 5000 DS Exec effective. A tar trapping pre-filter, a micro-HEPA particle filter, and blended MAC-B (mass activated carbon bed) carbon combine to clear the air of extremely harmful toxins. This carbon blend can absorb up to 60% of its own weight in airborne chemical compounds. The number of complete air changes per hour, depends on the size of the area to be cleaned.

The 5000 DS Exec will clean a 1500 square foot area with two air changes per hour, a 750 square foot area with four air changes per hour, and a 500 square foot area six air changes per hour.

This machine is specifically for capturing smoke, tar, fine ash, and chemicals that are a by-product of burning. It doesn't remove VOC's or airborne antigens or pathogens.
