How these Austin Air purifiers works:
Each product consists of HEPA and an activated carbon-zeolite mix. These are nothing fancy, just solid technology that has proven to work. The flow passes through a pre-filter to remove large particles and then goes through the activated carbon blend prior to being HEPA-filtered and returned to the room.
Plus (Superblend) Option:
This version of the HealthMates have a potassium iodide added to the activated carbon-zeolite mix that is designed to specifically remove organic chemicals that are often the cause of MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) symptoms.

HealthMate Jr HM-200 and HealthMate Jr Plus - Air Purifiers
The Austin Air HealthMate HM-200 (Junior) HEPA air purifier is a mini version of the full sized HM-400. It offers all of the same features of the HM-400 Austin Air purifiers but is smaller, contains 6 pounds of activated carbon and does not have casters (they are not needed - this is small enough to easily move around).

HealthMate HM-400 and HealthMate Plus
The Austin Air HealthMate HM-400 and Healthmate Plus are ideal for large rooms! The filter technology used in these models includes a HEPA filter and 15 pounds of carbon that has been activated to address your cleaning needs. Going beyond the technology of a standard HEPA air purifier, the Austin Air Plus or Superblend version is designed to address the needs of people suffering form MCS or have severe odor problems. The Austin Air system achieves these solutions by having a carbon mix that also includes a potassium component.

Allergy Machine - Office or Home Air Purifiers
The Austin Air Allergy Machine is designed to remove pollen from the indoors. The Allergy Machine is one of the best allergy air purifiers on the market today. It includes a thin carbon mat for odors, but is primarily a HEPA air purifier that utilizes a HEPA filter for cleaning indoor air. The Austin Air allergy air purifiers utilize the HEGA technology. These products employ a technology that enables the main filter life to be typically 5 years. The Austin Air Allergy Machine is available in the textured silver color shown and comes with casters.

The Pet Machine
The The Pet Machine is the same physical size as the Austin Air line of HM 400 and HM 400 Plus air purifiers. However, the Pet Machine has more HEPA filter paper to trap particulates, and a different blend and different amounts of odor-absorbing compounds. Most importantly, a custom blend of activated carbon has been added to absorb ammonia-based pet odors.
