Austin Air Purifiers - The Pet Machine

Whether four-legged or flying, indoor pets bring a potpourri of challenges to pet owners with sensitivity to airborne particles and strong organic odors. Although, most of the air purifiers we carry address these problems, Austin Air has developed a new air purifier specifically designed to remove pet-related allergens and odors. It's called the Pet Machine.

The new Pet Machine from Austin uses a pre-filter and a True Medical Grade HEPA filter to trap allergens like floating fur, dust, and dander, as well as a customized carbon blend that significantly reduces odors. Besides the Activated Carbon and Zeolite found in standard Austin Air air purifiers, a customized carbon blend has been added to the blend to remove those offensive ammonia-based odors associated with animals.

The Pet Machine is designed to run 24 hours a day and will be most effective if placed nearest the source of the problem such as a dog or cat's sleeping area or a bird room. With its powerful fan, the Pet Machine will pull the allergens and odors into the filter, lock them in, and push the purified air out. Unlike air purifiers with limited carbon, or carbon that has not been enhanced, the Austin Air Pet Machine can eliminate or greatly reduce odors from urine, which even when cleaned up, still lingers.

Pet Machine air purifiers are available in a size fit for a 1500 square foot room, although they will be more effective in a smaller room. (The 1500 square feet specification assumes it will be running on the high speed all the time, which is unlikely). It's always better to have air purifiers that clean a larger area than you have because you can run them on lower, thus quieter speeds. The cabinet is the same size and approximate weight as Austin Air HM 400 Plus air purifiers. (There is no Junior size available at this time). However, it is different from the Plus in two ways. The amount of HEPA filter has been increased to 60 square feet, and the carbon blend has been designed specifically for pet odors. The blend includes 6.5 pounds of high grade Activated Carbon, 7.5 pounds of Zeolite, and 1.0 pounds of a customized carbon blend. This powerful combination will absorb the most offensive of pet odors. Even the best non-pet-specific air purifiers can be challenged by the power of pet odors!

These air purifiers are available in four colors - sandstone, black, white or silver - the Austin Air Pet Machine also has three speeds for sound flexibility. With its large integrated HEPA and Carbon Blend filter, the Pet Machine filter could last up to five years, but it will depend on the type and number of pets in the home and how many air purifiers you have. With furry pets or larger birds, the inexpensive pre-filter may need to be changed every six months to a year. Regardless, both your human family and your pet family will breathe more freely with a substantial reduction in floating particles and heavy organic and chemical odors.
