How the ZON works

The ZON combines mechanical and electrostatic filter technology for highly efficient cleaning. A whisper-silent fan draws air through the HEPASilentTM filter where negatively charged particles cling to the fibers. Air then passes through the docking station where an ion brush charges the air that is released back into the room. The Zon removes particulate, but it does not remove gases and odors.

Three-Stage Progressive Filter

Patented HEPASilent™ filter technology captures six times more dirt than filters in typical air purifiers. Millions of fine polypropylene fibers effectively remove 99.97% of all particles down to 0.1 micron in size. The filter does not contain any chemicals. For optimal performance, Blueair recommends filter replacement every six months.

The ion brush charges the air with negative ions without generating any ozone. The charge makes airborne particles cling more easily to the filter media and helps increase overall cleaning efficiency.

Sophisticated materials and precision engineering allow the ZON to clean indoor air without the noise associated with standard models. Air passes easily through the filter, so the fan doesn't have to work as hard or as loud.

Sphere of Clean Air

Most air purifiers house the filter in hard casing along with the fan to draw air into the unit and push it back out again. But the casing, despite open grills designed to let air to flow freely into the purifiers, actually acts as a barrier.

The ZON strips away the hard casing from the filter, fully exposing it to the surrounding air. The filter is now cradled in a docking station that contains the patented Blueair HepaSilent technology.

The filter and docking station form a compact module that delivers cleaner air at the rate of 30 cubic feet per minute. This sphere of clean air created by the ZON is your "Personal Clean AirZone."

An Energy Star Product

Function is equally important as form for the ZON. So much so that the ZON is setting a new standard that is much higher than the stated requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's voluntary ENERGY STAR program.

It uses approximately 60% less material to manufacture, 50% less packaging and 85% less energy than other air purifiers with comparable performance.
