This product can control multiple chemicals such as acetic acid, isoprene, ethanol, hydrogen chloride, ozone, phenol and many more. This unit is the same dimensions and weight as the GC VOC and also comes with the remote control and six-speed fan. This product can also clean the air in a space up to 900 square feet. The GC MultiGas is able to trap chemicals and odors in the air with the powerful filters and cartridges it is equipped with. When IQAir developed these indoor air purifiers, they had power and accuracy in mind. The products in the series are effective enough to trap odors, chemicals and gases in the air. They have a 99% efficiency rate and require little energy to run. GC MultiGas Air Purifiers Review At our doctor's recommendation we looked into the IQAir line of air purifiers and have been very pleased with the GC MultiGas unit that we purchased from you. We live in an old building in Manhattan and there are smokers on our floor. In addition, my daughter suffers from chemical sensitivity. It seemed like we were getting hit from all sides and it was either clean the air or move. Except for the air quality we like the building so moving was not a pleasant alternative. The IQAir GC MultiGas model has solved most of our problems, and although it was an expensive solution, we have determined that it was well worth the money. The IQAirMultigas GC air purifier is one of the most proficient air purifiers on
the market to combat environmental tobacco smoke also known as ETS. This
particular unit is great for bars, night clubs, or restaurants to clear the air
of pesky, bad smelling tobacco smoke. The IQAir Multigas GC air purifier has a
high efficiency pre filtration system. The IQAir Multigas GC not only takes care
of getting rid of ETS, but it also helps with MCS.
It also removes small particles ranging in a diameter of .01 microns. These
particles make up the visual smoke from a cigarette as well as the gaseous odors
from components such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, and
nitrogen oxides. The IQAir Multigas GC has a high holding capacity for these
types of particles unlike many other filtration systems in which their holding
capacity fills up very quickly and doesn't work to its maximum filtration.
Not only are small particles filtrated out of the air, but so are many organic
compounds such as ethane, formaldehyde, and acetaldehyde. All of these compounds
you breath in whether you are the one holding the cigarette or not. If you are
in the same room as the smoker, you too become a smoker in so many aspects.
IQAir Multigas GC air purifiers are much larger units that the IQAir HealthPro
Plus air purifiers. The Multigas GC weighs in at twelve pounds and has a much
broader spectrum gas phase than the HealthPro Plus. The IQAirMultigas GC uses
both a chemical and a physical filtration system to clean the air unlike many
other air purifiers that use an activated carbon filter. When using two
filtration systems the result is that more gases and odors in the air are
removed at a much higher efficiency. These IQAir air purifiers come with a 6
foot long detachable power cord, four canisters, an owner's manual, a
certificate that guarantees performance, and filters are also included. These
IQAir air purifiers weigh about 85 pounds including all of their filters. It has
five different fan speeds. Setting one is 40 cfm, setting two is 60 cfm, setting
3 is 90 cfm, setting 4 is 140 cfm, and setting 5 is 270 cfm.
The maximum coverage of the IQAir Multigas GC air purifier is 1200 square feet.
This is based on setting 5 of the fan and an 8.5 foot ceiling. The systems
efficiency is 99% or more at .03 microns and it's 95% efficient for smaller
particles. This unit is UL certified and requires 115 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz. It
consumes 195 watts of energy on its maximum setting. Its stand by energy
consumption is 2.5 watts. The dominions of the IQAir Multigas air purifier are
40 inches in height, 16 inches in depth, and 15 inches in width. It comes with a
one year warranty that includes the fans, but does not include the filters that
it comes with. The unit comes with four canisters, but you can option to
purchase more if you would like to.
The IQAir Multigas GC has three filtration stages. The first is the particle pre
filtration, the second is the gas adsorption, and the third is the particle post
filtration. It has nine replacement filters as follows; one is the HEPA type pre
filter, there are four gas cartridges and four post filter sleeves for this
unit. The particulate pre filter is a mini pleat HEPA filter that has an
efficiency of 98%. The cartridge design is disposable cylinders that are
synthetic. The filter's typical life span is about every six to eight months for
the pre filter, two to three years for the sleeves, and anywhere up to three
years for the cartridges. This all depends on what type of environment that the
air purifier is cleaning in determining these figures.
The electronic control panel is made of a polyester overlay panel, with a liquid
crystal display, and a timer status, the filters life and the speed of the fan
indicator. The languages display in English, German, Italian, French, and
Spanish.
The fan that is designed for this unit is a centrifugal fan that is backward
curved and a single inlet. It has maintenance free ball bearings that are made
out of steal and voltage restrictions via capacitor switching to regulate the
speed of the fan.
All in all, the IQAir Multigas GC is a great unit to help purify the air from
toxic odors, chemicals, and ETS.
