IQAir GC VOC indoor air purifiers are designed to address very specific chemical removal applications. The filter system consists of the standard pre filter but the upper module contains four filter cartridges that contain gas phase media. These filter cartridges are reusable and contain 12 pounds of the media. GC VOC indoor air cleaners are designed to control of the following: Xylene, Toluene, Sulfuric acid, Pyridine, Phosgene, Nitrobenzene, Methylene chloride, Methyl chloroform, Methyl chloride, Indole, Freon 11, Ethylene oxide, 1.1 Dichloroethane, Cyclohexane, Chloropicrin, Chloroform, Chlorine, Carbon tetrachloride, Butane, and Benzene volatile organic compounds. The particulate filtration efficiency of these cleaners for particles is 97% at .3 microns so it does not address the needs of allergy and asthma sufferers but rather handles VOCs for specific MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity) needs. These are near silent air purifiers due to the advanced Swiss technology.
This product concentrates on getting chemicals out of contaminated air. The IQAir GC VOC can control chemicals such as ethylene oxide, chloroform, butane, chlorine, methyl chloride, xylene and many other harmful chemicals that can be released. The purifier uses a pre-filter, four gas cartridges and a post filter in order to catch the toxins in the air. The unit weighs 51 pounds and stand 28 inches tall by 16 inches wide. IQAir GC VOC air purifiers are able to clean a room up to 800 square feet in diameter. The fans inside the air purifiers are the same high powered and centralized fan used in the HealthPro series which means this unit also only uses 215 watts of power when set on high. The fan has six different setting and also comes with a convenient remote control to set the timer or switch the fan settings. The control panel on the IQAir GC VOC displays the life of the filter up to the hour it needs to be replaced, just like the HealthPro series. The different filters in the air purifiers, including the four gas cartridges can be replaced separately and are not inter-connected which saves the customer money on filter replacements.

The IQAir GC VOC is a quality chemical control system, that specializes in controlling specific chemicals. In controlling chemicals it has 6 speeds that cover 900 square feet. This is solely based on maximum fan speed and an 8.5 foot ceiling.
It has a user friendly control panel, with a carrying handle for those who would like to transport this product. The GC VOC is 28 inches in height by 15 inches in width and 16 inches in depth. The IQAir GC VOC weighs 51 pounds. This is including the filters that come with the unit when you purchase it. The IQAir GC VOC is complete with 9 filters; one HEPA-type pre filter, four gas cartridges and four post filter sleeves. The filters are necessary for the three Filter Stages; particle pre filtration, gas adsorption, and particle post filtration. The number of filters that comes along with the IQAir GC VOC is determined by the speed of the unit that is selected with new filters installed, per speed. Setting 1 is 35 cfm; setting 2 is 60 cfm; setting 3 is 95 cfm; setting 4 is 125 cfm; setting 5 is150 cfm and setting 6 is 235 cfm.
The IQAir GC VOC unit comes with a 6-foot detachable power cable and it also has system efficiency is 99% or more for particles at 0.3 microns, and 95% efficiency for smaller particles. Its power requirements are 115 VAC, 50-60 Hz, while the entire electrical system is UL certified. Its energy consumption stands at the maximum 215 Watts and the consumption for stand by energy is 3 Watts.
There is a warranty period, which lasts one year from the date of purchase on the unit including fan motor, but excluding the filters. The particulate pre filter mini-pleat HEPA filter has an efficiency of 98% at .3 microns. The amount of gas used during the gas phase filter media between 11 and 13 pounds depending on media. The Cartridge design has Disposable Cylinders, while the Particulate Post Filter includes four electrostatically charged 98% at .3 microns fiber media sleeves. The Filter Life last as follows; the pre filter last about 6 to 18 months before you have to replace it. The sleeves have a lifespan of two to three years, and the cartridges have six to12 months for their filter life, but it is solely dependent on the operating environment.
For housing purposes the number of Housing Modules is 7, while the Housing Material is ABS (UV-stabilized). The color of main housing arms are Light Gray/Blue and the Air Intake has two side openings at base of unit. The air outlet diffuser has a horizontal 320 degree opening on top of unit.
The type of fan that this unit contains is a centrifugal fan that is backward curved, and has a single inlet. The bearings on the fans are maintenance-free steal ball bearings. Their speed regulation is made possible by voltage reductions via capacitor switching.
The control panel has a polyester overlay panel while the main display is a liquid crystal display with six characters by twp line. The IQAir GC VOC's status and indicator LEDs has a timer status LED, filter life Status LEDs, and a Fan Speed Indicator LED. The IQAir GC VOC also display's in several languages, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. This is a unit that is perfect for anyone to enjoy and to help purify their air.
